About Us
We are a group of people
committed to keeping the music and dance of the 1930’s, 40’s
and 50’s alive. This vibrant
and innovative style of popular music and dance is exciting, good fun and
also great exercise.
Chrissy started dancing after
she was taken to see a children’s dancing school production when she
was just 3 years old. She joined in with the dancing and was bitten by
the bug. She has been dancing ever since.
The intervening years have
seen her participate in a Ballroom formation team with her brother as a
young teenager. They won bronze, silver and gold medals in both Ballroom
and Latin styles of dance.
Chrissy has also done Modern Stage, Jazz and Tap Dancing. She then went on to take ISTD
examinations in Tap, Modern Stage, Jazz and Ballroom and has taken her
teaching exams.
Chrissy’s gentle approach
to teaching dance, as well as her sense of fun, make her classes
informative, interesting and at the same time enjoyable.
She teaches at The White Hart
Barn in Godstone and with her daughter Gwen at Merchistoun Hall in
Hampshire. Gwen takes after
her Mum in the dance stakes and has taken to the Jitterbug and swing
styles of dance like a duck to water. Gwen has also won competitions in
East Coast Swing. Gwen loves
the music of the era and on occasion helps out with the DJ’ing
under the name of “Lil’ Miss Wiggles”.
They both share their love of
Big Band Swing, early R&B and 50’s Rock and Roll with husband
and father Cliff (AKA Major 5X5).
Cliff has been playing music for others at parties and functions
since the early 60’s when it involved carting boxes of vinyl albums
(for those of you that remember vinyl) to every party he went to with
Chrissy.

Company B that have performed at the following venues and with various

built to house the Mary Rose.
We also recently appeared on
ITV Meridian Regional Evening News when a feature was done on our club
and dance troupe and the popularity of the dance style, music and era.
We can supply a Dance Troupe,
DJ, Dance Floor, War Time Military Vehicles and Bunting and Props for
private and corporate events of any kind.
